Review of our experience with Vonage

With Vonage Broadband Phone Service, you’ll be using your high-speed Internet connection to save up to 50% on all your local, long distance and even international calls.

You’ll also get many free features including voicemail, caller ID, 3-way calling and call forwarding. With Vonage you can choose your area code and keep your phone number wherever you go. You can also get advanced features like a second line, virtual numbers or toll free numbers.

We have used Vonage for over two years now, it was great when we started, its even better now with lower prices, improved 911 dialing functionality, free European calling to name a few. Best part of all, no extra fees and many taxes the regular phone companies charge. For example here in New York, my Verizon phone bill with an unlimited $40 plan miraculously becomes a $57 bill once all fees and surcharges are added on. You won't see that with Vonage.

If you're worried about sound quality, you have nothing to worry about. The quality is perfect, there are no delays, static or anything of that nature even when I am downloading large files while talking on the phone.

Quick Tip
If you're using DSL and plan on using Vonage as your only phone line, make sure your phone company offers DSL service without a telephone line. Many companies will only provide DSL service if you are a telephone line customer.
